TEAMS/REPORTS

September 14th   Red Rose 0    Hethersett   4

Hethersett were looking to start their season with a win in their opening game with Red Rose. Due to some late call-offs, the squad was down to 8 players but the team came out of the blocks quickly, creating a number of early chances, one of these being taken by Letitia Dye on her Hethersett debut. Into the second half, Hethersett continued to boss the game and create chance after chance, with Sophie Rock showing the same clinical shooting as last year, with 2 goals sandwiching an own goal created by a dangerous cross by Sophie Cooke. More chances went begging for Hethersett, including a penalty, but all the players can be proud of an excellent performance in the opening game.

TEAM: Emma Bunn, Nancy Bussey, Constance Canning, Rhiannon McKibben, Ella Stephenson, Sophie Rock, Letitia Dye, Sophie Cooke

Erica Hall, Sophie Rock, Letitia Dye, Danielle Homer, Rhiannon McKibben

October 5th      Blofield      2     Hethersett    2

October 11th     Hethersett     6    Aylsham    1

TEAM: Louise Pritchett, Danielle Homer, Constance Canning, Adelaide Mott, Ella Stephenson, Sophie Cooke, Sophie Rock, Letitia Dye, Erica Hall, Beth Evans

Goal scorers were Sophie Rock (4, 3 first half) Ella Stephenson (1, second half) and Letitia Dye (1, second half).

The under 13 Girls achieved a very convincing victory against old rivals Aylsham, with a display of free flowing passing, solid midfield play and sound defending. The game started brightly with both teams sharing a goal, but Hethersett went on to dominate the half, going in 3-1 up, with a hat-trick from Sophie Rock. With every single player in good form and giving 110% to the cause, the home team added 3 more goals in the second half, 1 each from Ella Stephenson (direct from a corner), Sophie Rock and Letitia Dye. Good solid individual performances from each and every player across the pitch, together with great team work, meant all were celebrating their highest ever win when the final whistle blew.

October 18th      Norwich City   7     Hethersett    2

In an entertaining cup tie, both teams gave their all. Hethersett began slowly, but were harshly given a goal against them. However, this just spurred Hethersett on, with 2 quick and extremely well worked goals from Ella Stephenson, set up by Sophie Rock and Sophie Cooke respectively. With half time approaching, Hethersett conceded a freak goal, and had to settle for a 2-2 half time score, which didn't completely reflect the first half. After the break, Hethersett conceded unluckily again, this time from a corner, before Norwich turned on the style with 4 late goals.

TEAM: Louise Pritchett, Danielle Homer, Constance Canning, Ella Stephenson,
Beth Evans, Sophie Cooke, Sophie Rock, Letitia Dye, Erica Hall, Nancy Bussey

Goal scorer was Ella Stephenson (2, both first half).

Dereham Wanderers        0     Hethersett    2

TEAM: Emma Bunn, Danielle Homer, Beth Evans, Rhiannon McKibben, Ella Stephenson, Erica Hall, Adelaide Mott, Sophie Rock, Letitia Dye, Nancy Bussey

In a close, well fought game, both teams had few chances to speak of. In a bright start for Hethersett, an early goal game, Ella Stephenson latching onto a great through ball from Adelaide Mott and finishing assuredly. Soon after, substitute Sophie Rock came on and ran past two defenders from the half way line, before coolly slotting past the keeper. Things remained this way to half time. Credit to Dereham, who could have let their heads go down, because instead of Hethersett cruising the second half, they had a real battle against a spirited Dereham side. although Dereham couldn't really create many clear cut chances, except a late shot Emma Bunn did well to turn around the post.

November 8th                     Hethersett      1      Norwich     5

TEAM: Louise Pritchett, Constance Canning, Beth Evans, Adelaide Mott, Sophie Cooke, Ella Stephenson, Sophie Rock, Letitia Dye, Nancy Bussey, Danielle Homer

Hethersett never really got going in this game after conceding a lucky early goal direct from a corner. Norwich added two more well worked goals before half time, but were helped by a lack of Hethersett pressure. In the second half, Beth Evans scored her first Hethersett goal with a speculative long range shot, which took a deflection off the keeper. However, Hethersett couldn't build on this, with Norwich adding two more good goals to cruise to victory.

November 15th                   Hethersett     0      Norwich 10

TEAM: Emma Bunn, Nancy Bussey, Beth Evans, Letitia Dye, Sophie Cooke, Erica Hall, Ella Stephenson, Adelaide Mott, Rhiannon McKibben, Danielle Homer

November 29th                   Hethersett       5     Red Rose   2

TEAM: Emma Bunn, Constance Canning, Beth Evans, Rhiannon McKibben, Letitia Dye, Erica Hall, Ella Stephenson, Danielle Homer, Sophie Cooke, Sophie Rock

Hethersett were back to winning ways with a bright performance against a hard-working Red Rose side. Ella Stephenson opened the scoring with a neat finish, before an immediate equaliser from Red Rose. Sophie Rock came on to score two cracking goals before half-time, and coolly completed her hat-trick soon after. Red Rose grabbed a deserved second, before Ella Stephenson completed the scoring with her second.

December 6th                      Spixworth      1    Hethersett   6

Hethersett put in a good attacking display against Spixworth, with Sophie Rock hitting a first half hat-trick, ably set-up by Ella Stephenson each time. Into the second half, and further goals from Sophie Rock, Ella Stephenson and an own goal completed the scoring for Hethersett, with Spixworth claiming a deserved consolation.
