A National FA Community Charter Club

Annual Meeting 1998

There were 15 members present at the annual meeting held at Hethersett Social Club on Friday 7th August, 1998.

With the chairman and vice-chairman both absent, it was agreed that the secretary should chair the meeting.

The secretary reported on the new adults and girls teams and that the club now had 96 members and that during the season three records were broken. He mentioned television coverage gained by the adults team and also the club's trip to Holland.

The emphasis for the new season would be on flexibility given the number of teams now within the club's umbrella. Teams should be brought closer together.

The treasurer gave a detailed report of the financial situation and discussed the team managers' contributions to finances and also sponsorship.

The secretary produced a draft  Constitution which was approved with a few amendments

The following were unanimously elected:-

Chairman Peter Steward
Vice-Chairman Ray Milne
Secretary Mel Perkins
Treasurer Mel Perkins
Fund-raising Co-ordinator Sue Milne

The meeting heard that the Under-15s have raised almost sufficient funds for a new kit. The social club would be purchasing a further kit for the younger sides and the girls will be using last year's Under-14s kit.

It was agreed that a set of portable goalposts/nets would be purchased for use by the girls' team for matches and by others for training purposes.

It was agreed that as soon as financially practical all teams should be equipped independently to avoid distribution of shared equipment on Sundays.

To meet running costs alone, each youth team will need to raise £400 and the seniors £550 from fees. This does not include training which should be self financing. Each team should draw up their own plans regarding fees and get them approved by the treasurer.

Discussion also took place re the setting up of a development fund to provide the club's own facilities in the village.

The secretary agreed to produce a monthly newsletter.
