Extraordinary General Meeting called

An Extraordinary General Meeting of Hethersett Athletic Football Club will be held at Park Farm Hotel at 7.30 p.m on Monday, 24th January, 2005.

The meeting will discuss a possible partnership with Easton College.

The college has contacted us with an offer to provide top class sports facilities for Hethersett Athletic on their Easton campus. This includes new pitches, a floodlit training area and changing facilities.

On 24th January David Lawrence, principal of Easton College, and Richard Burley, Director of Sport, will speak about the college's wish to work in partnership with Hethersett Athletic to the mutual benefit of both organisations. Their proposal will be for a long term partnership. Any use of facilities in Easton will be over and above those already used in Hethersett and will not replace them.

David and Richard will be attending the meeting and outlining basic plans for the partnership and Hethersett Athletic Football Development Officer Mark Kerr and Promotions Officer Ray Milne will also speak.

There will be opportunity for a full discussion on the matter and questions from the floor before a vote is taken on whether to enter a partnership with Easton College.

It is important that as many players, parents, supporters and club members attend the meeting so that any decision taken is representative of the club as a whole and not just a few individuals.

Each registered member will be entitled to a vote but in the case of a member aged under-16 that vote passes to a parent/guardian.  Any proposal will require a two-thirds majority from the votes present to be carried.

Team secretaries and managers are being asked to let club secretary Mel Perkins know how many will be attending from their teams in order to help with the organisation of the evening. Figures should be sent to Mel by January 16th.
