Hethersett Athletic 0, Fenman Freehouse 5

Comments made before, during and after the Norfolk Sunday Senior Cup Final at Carrow Road.

"It was one of those days when we just weren't going to score, whilst everything the opposition did seemed to turn to gold." - Hethersett chairman Peter Steward after the final whistle.

"I felt 5-0 was a bit harsh on them. They caused us problems and could have quite easily scored two or three goals." - Fenman manager Steve Leggett at the end of the game.

"It was the best we have played for some time and I felt we were always going to win after getting off to such a flying start." - Fenman manager Steve Leggett

"Well done Fenman but well done Hethersett in reaching the final and for their efforts. On behalf of the league I applaud the 350-odd Hethersett supporters who turned up on the morning to support their team," Alan Williams of the Norwich Sunday League writing in the Pink-Un newspaper under the heading Tough on Hethersett.

"The King's Lynn stranglehold on the competition could be broken. After two years with both finalists coming from the King's Lynn area, Hethersett Athletic from the Norwich area have broken through to break the dominance of the west of the county." Article in the Pink-Un before the game under the heading "King's Lynn stranglehold to be over?"
