Hethersett Athletic
Football Club held its annual funday and youth team prize presentations
at Hethersett Middle School on Sunday 20th May, 2007 Representatives
from the club’s 10 youth teams
aged from under-9 to Under-16 joined
together for a day of fun, sun, trophies and inter-club matches. The Under-11s
Girls’ team received their Norfolk Women’s and Girls Under-11s
League Trophy from chairman of Norfolk FA Stuart Dracup who is also a
vice-president of the Hethersett club. The day also
included speed kick and table football competitions, a raffle and
tombola and proceeds will go towards club funds. “It was another
wonderful day to showcase the success of our club. Holding the funday
gives our youngsters the chance to show off their skills and celebrate
their successes. It also showcases our club and underlines that we are
very much a part of the community,” said club chairman Peter Steward. The event was
organised by club committee members Mike Molloy, Steve Raven and Richard
Gamble. Two weeks ago the club held its prize presentation evening for
its adult teams at Park Farm Hotel. Club appearance
trophies were presented to the following:

(Under-15s), Jack Sanders (Under-15s), Luke Giles (Under-14s),
Christopher Price (Under-13s), Michael Edwards (Under-13s), Imogen
Stevenson (Under-15 Girls), Amy Batch (Under-15 Girls), Philippa Symons
(Under-15 Girls), Adam Cooney (Under-12s), James Burton (Under-11s),
Jamie Miller (Under-11s), William Plumb (Under-11s), Nichola Rathjen
(Under-11s), Lewis Sanders (Under-111s), Max Tarrant (Under-11s), Curtis

(Under-10s), Matthew Pummell (Under-9s), Sam Comb (Under-9s). Chris Marshall
received a trophy to mark 100 goals for the club. Team awards were as
follows: Under-16s – Top goalscorer, Chris Marshall; best goal, Adam
Waters; Players’ player of the season, Ben Shearing; Managers player
of the season, Johnny Martin. Under-15s –
Players player of the season, Tom Wadlow; Parents and Manager’s player
of the season, Tom Wadlow; team players of the year, Tamas Dalmay, Jack
Sanders, Adam Buffin. Under-14s – Top
goalscorer, Jamie Crowe; Most improved player, Daniel Chambers; players
player of the year, Harley Hammill; player of the season, Luke Giles. Under-13s –
Supporters player of the season, Darren Ford; players player of the

The objects of the day were: To provide a fun day for the youth teams, their families, friends and sponsors of Hethersett Athletic Football Club To provide an opportunity to recognise team achievements by the presentation of awards To provide an opportunity to recognise contributions from helpers and sponsors To raise funds to support youth team activities and to make a donation to Hethersett Middle School for the use of their facilities.
