Hethersett Athletic Girls Under-12s were triumphant when they won a six-a-side tournament at Horsford and conceded just one goal in seven matches.

Hethersett started amongst the favourites, but late call offs meant they only had six players. Nevertheless they started strongly, beating Spixworth B 5-0 (Adelaide Mott 4, Constance Canning), Gorleston Rangers 2-0 (Canning and Ella Stephenson), Spixworth A 3-0 (Mott, Stephenson 2), Spixworth B 4-0 (Mott 3, Stephenson) before suffering a surprise 1-0 defeat at the hands of Gorleston Rangers. They got back to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Spixworth A (Mott, Stephenson and Teagan Felknor-Edwards) and that was good enough to take them through to the final where they got revenge for their earlier defeat by beating Gorleston Rangers 2-0 with both goals coming from Adelaide Mott to take her tally for the competition to 11.

Special mention should go to goalkeeper Emma Bunn who conceded just once and Rhiannon McKibben for her non stop energy. Hethersett’s winning team was:  Emma Bunn, Constance Canning, Teagan Felknor-Edwards, Ella Stephenson, Rhiannon McKibben and Adelaide Mott.

The team made a number of tactical changes throughout the tournament and in the final Ella was deployed in defence in an attempt to snuff out the Gorleston attack. This had the desired effect with the first goal coming from an Adelaide special and the second from an own goal following Adelaide's banana corner
