A National FA Community Charter Club Minutes
of a Meeting of Hethersett Athletic Football Club held at Park Farm
Hotel on Monday 16th July, 2007. Apologies Bob Oliver, Tom
Rainsford, Paul Wiltshire, Sue Buffin, Mick House. Minutes The minutes of the
previous meeting were agreed as a correct record. Secretary’s Report The club has
renewed its associate membership of Norwich City and has details of the
Football in the Community match day experiences. Nominations for
Norfolk squads needed by 20th July. Forms passed to Ross
Potter for the men’s teams and Sue Milne for ladies and girls. The
club has received priority booking notice for coming England European
qualifying matches against Israel and Russia. Players registration forms
and club registration forms to be posted on web site. Treasurer’s Report An invoice has been
received from Norfolk County Services for £1380.59 plus VAT for ground
care for the season. It was agreed that this should be paid. One set of
goals will be available from Easton College and Tom Parke to check
measurements etc. League AGMs Short reports were
given on the men’s. youths, girls and ladies league agms. A motion to
change the points system for the youth leagues to give three points for
a win rather than the current two was defeated on the grounds it would
just open up a wider gap between the top teams and others. Men’s Adult
Teams The chairman issued
a plea for all sections of the club to work together and celebrate our
successes. He said he would not tolerate any divisions and urged
managers and coaches in the adult men’s sections to work closer to
ensure the club’s success. Steve Raven and Bob Oliver will be running
the A team, Ross Potter the first team (with help from Peter Steward,
Vicki Potter and possibly Dave Arnold) and Dave Manington the reserves
(with the help of Paul Stone and Danny Holman). Lee Thompson Shield Kelvin Sadler will
look into an early season match for the new plate. Ross Potter suggested
a special match between the current first team and a team consisting of
former players. This will be followed up. Easton College Partnership The chairman
briefly outlined updates and will report at greater length to the next
club meeting. Club Development Report Ray gave an update
on a possible taster day for those with learning difficulties and other
handicaps. Football Development Report Nick has put
together a list of e-mail contact addresses. He also spoke about CRB
checks and an in service training day. Kit, Venues, Fixtures, Leagues Nothing major to
report. Clubs and Societies Day This will be held
on September 29th in Hethersett Village Hall. The chair asked
for ideas and will put the matter on the agenda for the next meeting.
Volunteers would be needed to give up an hour on the day. Mike Molloy
suggested having the table soccer game available. Newsletter The first of the
new season will be published at the beginning of September Any Other Business Steve Raven offered
to update the club handbook. Ross Potter highlighted the coming adult
five-a-side tournament on the Memorial Field on July 22nd. Next Meeting Monday August 20th,
7.30 p.m at Park Farm
