A National FA Community Charter Club

Minutes of a Meeting of Hethersett Athletic Football Club held at Park Farm Hotel on Monday 16th July, 2007.

Apologies

Bob Oliver, Tom Rainsford, Paul Wiltshire, Sue Buffin, Mick House.

Minutes

The minutes of the previous meeting were agreed as a correct record.

Secretary’s Report

The club has renewed its associate membership of Norwich City and has details of the Football in the Community match day experiences.

Nominations for Norfolk squads needed by 20th July. Forms passed to Ross Potter for the men’s teams and Sue Milne for ladies and girls. The club has received priority booking notice for coming England European qualifying matches against Israel and Russia. Players registration forms and club registration forms to be posted on web site.

Treasurer’s Report

An invoice has been received from Norfolk County Services for £1380.59 plus VAT for ground care for the season. It was agreed that this should be paid. One set of goals will be available from Easton College and Tom Parke to check measurements etc.

League AGMs

Short reports were given on the men’s. youths, girls and ladies league agms. A motion to change the points system for the youth leagues to give three points for a win rather than the current two was defeated on the grounds it would just open up a wider gap between the top teams and others.

Men’s Adult Teams

The chairman issued a plea for all sections of the club to work together and celebrate our successes. He said he would not tolerate any divisions and urged managers and coaches in the adult men’s sections to work closer to ensure the club’s success. Steve Raven and Bob Oliver will be running the A team, Ross Potter the first team (with help from Peter Steward, Vicki Potter and possibly Dave Arnold) and Dave Manington the reserves (with the help of Paul Stone and Danny Holman).

Lee Thompson Shield

Kelvin Sadler will look into an early season match for the new plate. Ross Potter suggested a special match between the current first team and a team consisting of former players. This will be followed up.

Easton College Partnership

The chairman briefly outlined updates and will report at greater length to the next club meeting.

Club Development Report

Ray gave an update on a possible taster day for those with learning difficulties and other handicaps.

Football Development Report

Nick has put together a list of e-mail contact addresses. He also spoke about CRB checks and an in service training day.

Kit, Venues, Fixtures, Leagues

Nothing major to report.

Clubs and Societies Day

This will be held on September 29th in Hethersett Village Hall. The chair asked for ideas and will put the matter on the agenda for the next meeting. Volunteers would be needed to give up an hour on the day. Mike Molloy suggested having the table soccer game available.
