A National FA Community Charter Club HETHERSETT Athletic’s
match against Coltishall was called off due to an insurance problem
encountered by the opposition. It means that Hethersett have dropped to
fourth place in the Norwich Sunday League Premier Division, but they
have games in hand on the club’s above them. This Sunday there’s a
break from league action when they take on Aylsham at home in the First
Round of the League Cup (Easton College 10.30 am). A few weeks ago the
two clubs drew 2-2 in an excellent league match at Easton College. Hethersett Reserves
eased their relegation concerns in Division 2B as they beat bottom club
AFC Rompers 6-3. Richard Manington hit a brace and others came from
Cameron, Leverett, Warman and an own goal. Hethersett A visited
NALGO and moved up the league into third place just one point behind the
Division 4B league leaders following a 3-1 win with Paul Martin netting
his 12th goal of the season and Andy Oliver contributing the
other two. Hethersett Ladies are
setting their league alight. They are three points clear at the top of
the East Anglian Women’s Eastern Division after facing an extremely
difficult trip to King’s Lynn but coming away with three points from a
very good 4-0 win. Their
goals came from Hazel Brewster (2), Jemma Smythe and Nicola Stolworthy. Hethersett Under-16s
drew 1-1 at Dereham with their goal coming from Chris Marshall, the
Under-15s lost 8-0 at home to Spixworth, the Under-14s went down 3-2 (Willimott,
Crowe) at Firside, the Under-13s drew 1-1 with Firside (Keeley), the
Under-12s lost 3-1 at home to Mulbarton (Wilcox) and the under-11 were
well beaten 8-1 at Mulbarton. The Under-9A team lost
2-0 to Dereham but beat Attleborough 2-1 thanks to a strike from Peres
and an own goal. The Under-9B team found the going very difficult at
home to Mundford and lost 16-0. The Under-15 girls went down 4-0 at home
to West Norwich. This Saturday the Girls
Under-15s play Surrey Chapel at Spooner Row (10.30) and the Girls
Under-11s are home to Blofield United (Easton College 10 a.m). On Sunday the Men’s A
team make the long journey to Mundesley. The Women’s team make
it a League Cup double header at Easton College when they follow the
men’s first team’s League Cup match with their own League Cup game
against Bedford Town (kick off 1.30 p.m). This promises to be a
tremendous game with the two teams at the top of the East Anglian
Women’s League Eastern and Western Divisions. The Under-16s visit
Watton in the League Cup, the Under-15s visit Lakeford in the League Cup
and the Under-14s are away at Poringland in the league. The Under-10s
play Mattishall at Blofield in the League and the Under-9A team play
Attleborough A at Wymondham in the League Cup and the Under-9B side take
on Mundford in the League Cup at Little Melton School. |
