The 2008 Lee Thompson Memorial Trophy was presented to the mother and son pairing of Vicky and Ross Potter for their outstanding contribution to the club's men's first team over a number of seasons.

As manager of the team Ross led Hethersett Athletic to Norwich Sunday League Division Two and Division One Titles and to runners-up spot in the Premier Division. He also managed the team that finished runners-up in the County Cup. Ross has also played well over 100 games for the club.

Vicky has been first team physio for a number of seasons and is one of the highest qualified amateur physios in the county.

They were presented with their trophy at the club's adult presentation evening at park Farm Hotel on 2nd May, 2008.

Ross and Vicky held off strong competition to win the trophy which was presented by Lee's brother Ben and mother Mary.

Youth Funday Organising Committee – Steve Raven, Mike Molloy and Richard Gamble

Again this year the above three club members have spent countless hours organising the funday event which will take place at Hethersett Junior School in June. Over the past two years the event has been one of the major attractions on the village calendar, providing a showcase for the club’s junior section. In addition all three members are heavily involved with the club. Steve has managed the adult A side and undertaken a considerable amount of club development work, Mike is club treasurer and helps run the Under-16s side and Richard is sponsor and joint manager of the Under-15s

Josh Allsopp

Josh plays for the club’s Under-15s. He lost his father last November and joined Hethersett at the end of last season from Mulbarton. He is an extremely polite young man who always volunteers to help and thanks the coaching staff after every game and training session. After the loss of his father, both his mother and grandfather expressed their thanks on more than one occasion and remarked that being a part of Hethersett Athletic had been a big help during what has been a very sad time for the family.

Tom Parke

Tom “Toastie” Park has been instrumental over the past two seasons in the success of our ladies team that has seen them climb to the verge of the third national tier of women’s football. Last season Tom coached and jointly managed the team to top spot in the Eastern Region Division One East. This season he has taken them to victory in the Eastern Region League Cup. At the time of nomination the ladies team were also top of the league with the possibility of being promoted to the South-East Combination. Throughout his time at the club Tom, who is himself only in his early 20s, has been a great motivational influence on the team both as co-manager and coach.

Tim Sadler

Tim is an extraordinary young man. Despite only being 16 years of age, he is a fully qualified referee and important member of the club’s committee. Tim regularly steps in top referee junior games and has undertaken the referees co-ordinator role for the club. Tim has also helped with the organisation of the girls Under-12s side as well as organising coaching sessions for goalkeepers and looking into the possibility of organising a five a side tournament in the future. Tim has helped set up sponsorship deals and produced a first class powerpoint presentation for the club on mini soccer.

Vicky and Ross Potter

Mother and son combination Vicky and Ross are stepping down after a number of years as physio and manager of the men’s first team. Vickie is a top grade physio – one of the highest qualified in Norfolk and has treated numerous players’ injuries over the past few seasons. She has also served on the club’s committee. Ross turned Hethersett Athletic into one of the top Sunday sides in the county, winning Division Two and Division One titles on the way to taking the club into the Premier Division of the Norfolk Sunday League. He also led the team to a Carrow Road cup final in the final of the Norfolk Sunday Senior Cup and last season narrowly failed to lead the side to the Norfolk Sunday League title – finishing runners-up after being third the previous year.
